Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Why did you write I Did Not Survive. I Just Refused To Stop.?
I never sat down thinking, I'm going to write a book.I started writing because some experiences refused to stay quiet. What began as scattered thoughts became essays. Essays became poems. Somewhere along the way, those conversations became this book.It isn't a guide or a memoir with neat answers. It's simply an honest collection of thoughts about identity, faith, belonging, grief, resilience, humour, and learning to keep going. If one person reads a page and thinks, 'Finally, someone said it,' then this book has already done its job
2. Why "MissFit Writes"?
"MissFit" was never about failing to fit in.
It was about realising I didn't have to.Growing up between cultures, expectations, identities, and different versions of who I was supposed to be taught me something unexpected: not fitting neatly into a box can become one of your greatest strengths.MissFit Writes is simply the place where I stopped apologising for that.
3. What do you hope readers take away?
I don't expect readers to agree with every thought or relate to every experience.I simply hope they finish the book, finally recognising a thought they've been carrying without ever finding words for it.Sometimes we don't need advice.Sometimes we just need someone else to say, "Me too."
4. Who is this book for?
Itβs for anyone whoβs ever felt like they were translating themselves just to belong.Itβs for people who answer βIβm fineβ before remembering theyβre not.Itβs for those who know that surviving and truly living are not the same thing. And perhaps, for anyone still learning the difference.
